This month in our energy healing for Expand Your Business Now , I channeled the energy of Focus. Wow! What a powerful energy! Throughout the week that I shared the energy healing, more information kept coming to share about focus. Focus is an incredibly powerful energy! Webster has several definitions of focus as a noun 1a: a center of activity, attraction, or attention OR b: a point of concentration 2: directed attention : EMPHASIS 3a: DIRECTION sense 6c or b: a state OR condition permitting clear perception or understanding OR c: adjustment for distinct vision OR d: FOCAL LENGTH 4a: a point at which rays (as of light, heat, or sound) converge or from which they diverge or appear to diverge b: a point of convergence (see CONVERGENCE sense 1) of a beam of particles (such as electrons) 5: one of the fixed points that with the corresponding directrix defines a conic section 6: a localized area of disease or the chief site of a generalized disease or infection 7: the place of origin of an earthquake or moonquake And then as a verb… 1: to cause to be concentrated 2a: to adjust the focus of (the eye, a lens, etc.) OR b: to bring into focus 3: to bring (something, such as light rays) to a focus : CONCENTRATE WOW! That’s a lot of definitions of focus. And that’s from just one dictionary. And then you have the urban dictionary and the slang and the list goes on. We have so many definitions of focus that we can’t focus! That’s kind of funny in and of itself. When I look at Websters list, the one that stood out to me as the most enjoyable to play with around focus was this one: “ 3: to bring (something, such as light rays) to a focus : CONCENTRATE”. I love the idea of bringing light rays into focus when I think about my energy. For me focus is about bringing body, mind and spirit into alignment so that it is EASY to focus. Some ways that we scatter ourselves: Our bodies need to move and release energy, yet we sit down and try to do work at a desk. If we don’t get our body in alignment, it’s harder to focus. Our minds can be overly busy. If we don’t have a way to sort out what is in our mind, then it’s hard to focus it on what we want it to do. Our spirit is our passion and zest for life. If it doesn’t have it’s expression, then we feel frustrated and often disappointed, so again it’s hard to focus. It seems so easy to just get these things into alignment, right? If that were the case, we would be a way more productive society! Yet, we aren’t. Our youth struggles to learn how to organize themselves in an instant gratification society on mobile devices and computer. As adults, we are easily distracted with social media, TV and more. How do we solve this dilemma of focus so that we don’t feel like we are constantly behind? As a previously certified project manager and all around geek about efficiency, here are some things that I’ve discovered along the way to help you with your own focusing abilities. Bring awareness to the fact that focus isn’t just about having a todo list or drinking your coffee for the morning. Be willing to try new ways of doing things until you find what works for you. Know the type of ‘doer’ you are in the world. Are you someone who natural does things or needs rewards or needs external motivation. Gretchen Reuben’s book & Quiz, the Four Tendencies is brilliant in helping one understand how they approach doing in the world. Back to this definition of bringing light rays to a focus! I love this so much because we are spiritual beings of light! Even our bodies are vibrating beacons of light even though they appear solid to us. Our minds are full of electrical impulses that help us think. Divine energy runs through our physical and energetic bodies to provide us life. How do we get all of this LIGHT into alignment? As I asked that question, the first thing I heard was ‘fall in love with whatever it is you need to do!’. I feel Jeshua saying that this is the lightest and most fun way to focus. Bring love to whatever you are doing. The energy of love naturally brings a lightness. With the energy of love, all things come into alignment. The body and mind follow the spirit of love. Feel your heart and connect with the energy of love. Now, begin the activity you have ahead of you. This concept of falling in love applies even to tasks that you don’t want to do, like paying bills or washing dishes or reading email. When we bring our heart into everything we do, focus becomes effortless. If you need to use your mind to solve a problem, love the problem first. If you need to use your body for physical labor, love you body and the project in front of you. If you need to use your spirit to inspire others or help others, love who is in front of you. If you need to work with people who frustrate you, love them first. If you need to be with family who challenges you, love them first. Bringing our hearts full of love to everything we do allows us to focus. It’s why they often say that when you do something you love, it’s no longer work. Yet, we can truly bring love to whatever we are doing to create effortless. That is the true meaning of living from one’s heart. There is no perfect thing to do in the world, there is only a perfect way to be. FULL OF LOVE. In love and light! ✨
